For Valentine's Day, we wanted to tell the story of love at Duke from diverse perspectives. Shifting the conversation away from the frivolity of college relationships, we instead put the focus on the varied successful and heartwarming love stories from people who met at Duke. We partnered with offices across campus, particularly with our alumni association, to put out the call for these stories. We also included easily digestible statistics and fun facts about love at Duke give our overall product an easy narrative flow. I took ownership over the aesthetic direction, info graphics and content curation for our Tumblr blog. We then shared it profusely with our community on Valentine's Day, including graphics in some places and videos in others depending on the channel. We received overwhelming positive feedback.

Lessons Learned

  • One thing we realized is that we should have anticipated the followers we got on the blog and found a way to keep them engaged. We are now strategizing ways to continue to keep this blog alive past the holiday and tell the story of love at Duke all year round.
